Shonna Alexander

I am a Chukchansi, Miwok artist. One of my biggest influences is my cultural identity, I take great pride in my culture and want to share it with people. Preserving not only my culture through my art, but also my language is a huge part of my creation process. I enjoy working with dry mediums and watercolor. I like to incorporate animals into a lot of my work. I create certain pieces of work to educate and bring awareness to people about my tribes. It is important to me to share stories and cultural knowledge with people.
